Liloy NHS ranks First in the Division Search for the best School Implementers Mega Category of the Brigada Eskwela (BE) 2017 - the first time that the school became the division champion since the implementation of the BE.
The kick-off ceremony opening program started on May 15 with the theme “Isang DepEd, Isang Pamayanan, Isang Bayanihan para sa Handa at Ligtas na Paaralan”. The said ceremony featured a 30-minute “I love belly fit dance exercise”, a motorcade around the municipality of Liloy and the launching of the 1 Million Tree Planting/ Tree Growing at the lot donated by Municipal Vice Mayor Roberto L. Uy, Jr. in Baybay, Liloy.
On the fourth day, there was a Rabies Awareness Seminar and Child Protection Policy Seminar, a part of the Implementation Stage of BE. The BE Monitoring Representative from DepEd Central Office Manila, Miss Anna Liza A. Awa arrived to check and monitor the condition of the school buildings and checked whether the school is still in need of additional classroom buildings.
During the weeklong activity, the stakeholders, parents, teachers, students and representatives from different public and private agencies of the municipality of Liloy joined the said activity.
The signing of the Pledge of Commitment Graffiti by the stakeholders took place during the closing program on the 20th of May.
The following are the implemented best practices, projects, and programs of the said school during the BE: Program RECSTAP (Regular Checking of Students and Teachers Attendance and Punctuality; Program ARAL (Applying Research for Advancement in Learning); Program EPAR (Enhancing Performance through Action Research); Program TASI (Tutorial Assistance for Skill Improvement); ZN Division Greening Project-Planting/Growing Trees dubbed as “Lakaw para sa Lunhaw nga Damgo”; Project SOWMAN (Solid Waste management ); DSDRRM (School Disaster Risk Reduction Management) Seminar; Free dental check-up sponsored by the Liloy Rural Health Unit (RHU); Free snacks served to the volunteers during the entire BE period; Awarding of prizes to volunteers with perfect attendance during the weeklong activity; Rehabilitation of school’s Gulayan sa Paaralan; Replacement and repair of electrical facilities; Repainting and cleaning of walls, ceilings, roofs, and gutters of the classroom; and Repair and Cleaning of chairs, tables, windows, doors, and blackboards.
2016 Excellence Awardee, Mr. Fernando O. Malazarte, new installed Principal III of LNHS and the third time awardee for winning the last previous years of the BE when he was still the principal of Kipit-Agro-Fisheries School spearheaded the 6-day event.
